Science and the world mourn the passing of Stephen Hawking, renowned, award winning physicist. His contributions to science were innumerable. Hawking suffered from a rare slow progressing, early onset form of ALS or Lou Gehrig’s Disease. He became gradually paralyzed over decades, though his mind remained as brilliant as ever.
A pedestrian bridge collapsed at Florida International University on Thursday, trapping cars and people beneath the rubble. As many as six people may have died with an additional ten taken to the hospital. The Munilla Construction Company, who built the bridge, released this statement: “Our family’s thoughts and prayers go out to everyone affected by this terrible tragedy. The new UniversityCity Bridge, which was under construction, experienced a catastrophic collapse causing injuries and loss of life,” the statement read.
In our home: I fear for future grocery bills as Jack continues to eat three squares a day plus his normal contingent of bottles. Teddy randomly burst out with all the months of the year the other day, in order. I assume he learned that in school! Oliver is busy being tooney. The two big boys have dentists appointments today (Friday) and it’s a first one for Oliver. Seeing as though he is currently cutting two year molars, I don’t foresee this going well.
